i've revised my patterns and sizing and now i am offering made-to-order aprons in sizes 2T, 3 - 4, 5 - 7, 8 - 10 and 12 - 14. (eleven year olds are so all-over-the-place! they're either on the smaller size {8-10 size} or quickly growing {12 - 14 size}.)
the aprons are adjustable -- so they already fit a good range of individual kids and sizes. they have ties at the neck and ties at the back which make them very accommodating to kids who are either on the smaller or larger side of their age group.
so -- that said -- wouldn't your little maker or baker look absolutely adorable in one of these aprons? yes! she would!
this style is decidedly one for the girls (though open-minded boys and parents don't let me limit you!). it's got a slightly flared bottom which will provide a little more coverage for pretty skirts and dresses. it also has the detail of contrasting pink rickrack trim on the bottom.
though the print side is probably the one you'll like the best, this apron is made to be 100% reversible, so you can use it whichever way works best with the outfit or the task at hand. and, if need be, spills and stains can be forgotten about with a switcher-oo of the side that is facing out.
one side is a pretty blue flower print (i fell in love with this fabric weeks ago and have been planning on using it for these aprons ever since.) and the other is a matching solid. the color is that beautiful blue with a little bit of a greenish tint to it -- it's the color that was in all of the design and interior magazines a year or two ago (and still is...). i think that martha stewart uses this color a lot in her magazine.
the photos certainly arent great. it's tough not having a wee one at hand to use as a model. the photo of the apron on the dress form is good to show form, but certainly not an indicator of how the apron should fit. it's a size 3-4 hanging on my dress-form and although i am tiny, i am definitely not that tiny.
