piece details: it's a design that i based on peacocks that i found stitched on a sampler from the 1700 or 1800's (i forget if this one was one of the german samplers, or the ones done by pennsylvania dutch women BASED on an older german one....)
anyways --- two peacocks face one another with a fancy plumed crown above their heads. this piece is part of the royal PA dutch critters series that i did -- all based on PA dutch samplers, combining the prevalent crown motif with animals found on some of the more detailed samplers of that era.
the color scheme is green stitching on a navy background -- i was referencing those preppy whale pants.
framed within a 6" vintage metal embroidery hoop (with cool hardware!)
