this alphabet piece is based on letters i found stitched on the sampler of a pennsylvania dutch woman from the 1800's.
the letters a - z are cross-stitched in brown embroidery floss onto a background of light oatmeal aida cloth. the aida cloth (cross-stitch fabric) has "natural" fiber-flecks and texture to it -- making it look a bit antiqued.
the finished piece is framed within a 9.25" diameter wooden embroidery hoop. it can be hung on the wall just as it is.
